Emergency Response Planning

Although the Clearwater Project will be extremely safe and low-risk, it’s always best to be prepared, and AOS is developing an Emergency Response Plan for the Clearwater SAGD site and operations.

We are working with other stakeholders, such as the Fort McMurray Regional Airport and other Hwy. 69 industrial entities, on emergency preparedness, and we are joining the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo’s emergency response committee for the area. That means AOS and its staff are an active stakeholder in helping to ensure the safety of the region as a whole. We expect to be called upon to assist in safety issues that are outside our own borders. We think that’s another part of being a good neighbour.
