Project Background

The proposed Clearwater Project is located in the southeast corner of Section 21-88-8-W4M, 8 km southeast of Fort McMurray and within the Fort McMurray Regional Airport’s (FMAA) lands. The Clearwater project is located on lands already allocated by the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo (RMWB) and the FMAA for industrial development.

The application for development of the Clearwater Project was filed with the Energy Resources Conservation Board (ERCB) and Alberta Environment (AENV) in January 2010 and a project update was submitted in December 2010.
