Health and Safety are Paramount

We’re applying a carefully thought-out range of technologies to ensure the safety of the general public, local residents and our staff, to reduce emissions and to maximize operating reliability at the Clearwater Project. The project’s nature and design contribute to its innate safety: it is smaller in scale than most oil sands projects, uses underground SAGD extraction rather than surface mining and will operate at low pressure. It’s what being Big On Safe Operations is all about.

As the Clearwater Project progresses from the current planning stage to regulatory approval, we will continue implementing a range of Green Elements to ensure safety and environmental protection, and to show good corporate citizenship. And we’re always open to suggestions from local residents, businesses, and community stakeholders. To the people of AOS, that’s part of being a good neighbour.
