Algar Lake Prospect

This large area of 51 sections (13,209 hectares), held at 100 percent working interest, was acquired in 2007. The Algar Lake prospect lies 30 km northeast of the Pelican Lake oil sands project. The prospective formations are the McMurray and Wabiskaw, lying at approximately 275 metres’ depth, as indicated by legacy core holes. The region around the Algar Lake Prospect remains lightly explored, with a total of just three historical exploration wells, all of them drilled in the period 1958-1960.
